While playin wow this afternoon, i had the bad surprise to see my screen, mouse and kboard shutdown suddenly. Nothing happen when restart, even no beep postcode.

Fast conclusion : or my motherboard, or my cpu just blew up. I'll order some new parts today but it will take time to receive and install.
Son's computer can run wow but it barely support orgrimmar but i definetly cant raid with it :/ Gfx card is too old :/

Also, you can consider me signed out at least for this week :/

gigabyte and amd warranties are 3 years, also i must open a rma but it gonna take time... By experience, it looks like the 2 next weeks will be fucked up. :(

That sucks :/ was it overheating you reckon cause it seems so suddendly it must have had a cause

nop, it just suddenly shut down screen, kboard and mouse. Clear cmos and stuffs did not change anything.All fans are working but no boot, no post, same damn black screen without bip.

I ordered a new motherboard and i will receive it on tuesday, lets cross fingers.

Make sure the PSU nad gfx card are working. Try taking some parts from your sons computer (if they fit) and check each component.

yeah....how come you dont have 162 computers in your attic like me? you can test it all :p

but ye sounds like mobo problems...weird though cause mobo's usually last forever

My experience is that 9/10 times when a computer stops working its mobo/PSU =)

Tried another psu, no result
Tried another Gfx card, no result
Tried clear cmos, no result
Symptom is always the same, no cold boot, no bios, no post. Bref, mobo is not executing the pré-code before the bios.
Conclusion : or bios is dead but i did not flash it, or some mobo components are dead, or cpu is dead.

Cause my ssd died 2 weeks ago and i'll receive a new one, i dont wanna risk anything.

Now, the question is : is the cpu dead ? i tend to think it is not but i may be wrong. It's kinda sucky situation cause I did not budget to change half of my computer now. I'll see, if cpu is dead i'll prolly buy a phenom II X6 or X4 or FX ... No clue yet :(

I've had 2 faulty CPUs over my 3 years as a IT technician, if all else works then it is the cpu, but it is far more likely it's the mobo =)

In 23 years of informatic, i never burnt a cpu :) i just received a new one in 2010 who was totally dead. It's pretty rare, i think. But i just can't exclude that possiblity. Now, when i go on gigabyte's french forum, it's unbelievable the number of thread talking about cold boot problems. Curiously, it's never the mobo who got a problem but the psu, the graphic card or even the cpu. It doesnt help :(

I just hope it's the mobo cause i bought a new one :D lol. If it's the cpu, i'll be in shit cause it really increase the cost.
