Just wanted to make some clarity on a couple of things.
Backups
Firstly, if you are on backup, that means you are online at raid time and available to join the raid if someone else cannot make it or gets disconnected. EVERYONE will get a backup at some point, provided it doesn't screw the team (i.e. we need 2 tanks and 2/3 healers.) We all have made sacrifices to get to a raid only to find we are on backup. If you don't agree to this, please try to find another guild that doesn't have backups, I'm pretty sure you won't find one.
Pugging Raids
You are NOT allowed to raid past the bosses that we have killed in our normal raid, not ever. In older times when we did 25 man raiding and had a much bigger pool of players, anyone doing that would be instantly kicked from the guild with no warning. Now we have a small and friendly team we are not going to be so harsh. So putting someone on backup is the next best thing we will do.
Now on to Fibre specifically. You have done this 2 times in SoO which is quite frankly, pretty stupid, and you deserve a small amount of punishment for it. But that's all it is, just deal with it and move on. You seem to be suggesting that we have fucked you up on purpose, but that's not the truth. I'm happy to let this whole drama come to a close now and move on if you are, so please help us out too. You're part of the Icon family and you're a good friend to us all.

![]() Social 325 Posts | I used to raid in a guild with no backups (Reckless - Silvermoon) but the amount of times we had to call a raid, or drag in random low geared socials, because of this is enormous, it sucks and slows the progress unnecessarily. It does suck if you made arrangements to be there, only to find that you're backup. I've tried it. But in the end that's how it works. Suck it up, and move on... That's why I always have a second single player game lying around that I can jump to and from:) Wooopwoopwoop |

![]() Social 518 Posts | Back up only happen on Sign In days and a sign out delays a backup till the next sign in. It's the only way to maintain a raid and it works that way : For a 10 men, with 2/3 mandatory raids (our guild), u need a pool of 15 raiders roughly. 3 tanks, 4 healers and 8 dps. Since off spec exist, u can play a bit on specs and reduce it to 12-13 raiders which put on backup 2- 3 peoples. No need to explain that rotations normaly happens much much more often for tanks and healers than dps. Been backup means what ? Be ready to jump in raid if asked. You can give your phone number to an officer, give your gtalk. You are free to pug bosses who have been already killed for the lockout period but not more. You can watch a movie, do whatever you like. Backup is a necessary thing and sometimes, it sux, sometimes it's cool. |
