One of the best applications I've seen in a while, and that includes the ones I read for Anguish on ally side. Definitely one to consider carefully. I have no clue about resto shammies, so I cannot evaluate gear and gemming, but I'm leaning on a clear yes due to the quality of the application and attitude of the player in general.

Hehe, was actually checking out her "looking for guild" post over at wowhead.com yesterday. ^^
Find her app very interesting indeed! Gear, experience, attitude...she's got it all.

From what I can see from her application/armory link, she knows the class very well. Gems, Enchants and Glyphs are all flawless.

The only heads up is if she understands that we are currently NOT raiding, and that she probably will not see any hardcore raiding action until Catalysm with us.
Yes, we are hopefully getting some 10-mans going soon, but it seems to me that she might want a bit more than that:

My reason for leaving this guild is that it's main focus is getting everyone through the current content. Not heroic modes, but just to let everyone have the chance of seeing the Lich King fight. I have however "outgrown" the guild. I wish for more structure, more enforcing of the rules and most important to raid at a higher level.

We should take the discussion with her so that she knows the deal, especially since she will be moving servers to join us.

So in short: Yes, take her in IF she is ok with our current raid situation.

I sent her an email making sure she knows what she should expect:

Hi Dekina!

I really like your application, it is well written and a very good read. I find it very likely that we will accept it but I'm still waiting for all the officers to review it before we can make the final decision. I just want to explain to you some issues that I hope you noticed in the recruitment post.

The guild is currently dormant. The 10man guild is a cataclysm project and the real raiding will not commence before we step into The Bastion of Twilight at level 85. Only a few of us have moved our mains already, some are still raiding on different servers while others have re-rolled on Kazzak and is currently leveling/gearing up. We have a friendly social guild community already set up on Kazzak and do some random runs, but we are still too few geared 80s here to run instances on the level we want.

You would not be expected to move your main before 2 weeks before cataclysm if you want to continue to finish off WotLK content with your current guild. All members are expected to be present on Kazzak at the launch so that we can level as a joint effort and build team cohesion.

The team for cataclysm is basically set, if we recruit you, we only need the holy pala spot filled as the original holder of that spot has gone awol due to RL isses. The rest of the spots are already reserved. Setting up a fixed team of 10 people and getting a good balance is a tricky equation. I'll show you our ideas for the team and the reason for wanting people to have valid offspecs:

.........

screenshot of team and possible setups

........

With the current set-up we have a lot of versatility and having dual CR and Innervates plus 8 totems never really hurt either ;) Don't worry about not being fully proficient in your offspec yet, you have plenty of time to learn it before we will start raiding. Gear is also irrelevant as we all basically start on equal terms in the next expansion and will level up as a team effort probably running 2 x 5man teams grinding heroic instances in the beginning. There is a lot of cool new stuff to enjoy in the weeks and months ahead!

Hope you find this info useful, and have a great weekend!

Docile

She will know what to expect if she joins.

Great work on the mail dude! I hope she joins, seems just like the persons we want to have for Cata. And if she decides to move earlier, well all the better. Should make us able to start running some 10-mans.:)

I think we safely can accept this applicant for trial. I wanna try to grab her before she gets too many offers from other guilds.

We have an incoming pally application. Dakina's BF (apparently an experienced vanilla raider playing a holy priest) decided he might reroll pally to fill that last spot we need. Being a BF/GF app, I have prepared an answer to that upcoming app just to make some issues clear beforehand should we accept it:

Just wanted to clarify some things since this is a somewhat "joined-application".

In Icon Kazzak we have assigned the raid spots based on experience and performance dating back from vanilla raiding. The current set-up is a group of friends from within the old guild who decided to go for 10 man raiding in cataclysm and increase the focus and progression compared to the old guild. Adding a new player to that core, it is crucial that they fit in and can play their characters at the same level as the rest of the team. Every applicant needs to be evaluated individually.

Additionally, GF/BF relationships can sometimes have their tough times. Should an issue arise that makes it hard for you both to be in the raid team or same guild, the most reasonable solution would be to set a precedence of having the first one to be accepted (in this case Dakina) stay in guild while other one leaves. But let's hope it's all love and happiness ye? :D

If we choose to accept you, you will have a separate trial and evaluation and you have to pass the trial on same terms as any other single applicant. However based on your application and experience, I am confident you'll be able to hold your own on any given encounter. Please give the officers some time to review your application, and we'll get back to you soon with an answer.

... or something along those lines. Please proofread and comment.
