How much can we go under hit cap?
I've noticed that 0,5% doesn't affect ur dps atl all.(this is for casters).
Can i go under a bit more or is better for me to be hit caped.

![]() Social 269 Posts | Hit makes ur dps more reliable from fight to fight you can go as far as you feel comfortable with I can only say from cata exp that you could loose 5% hit to get to a cap in the first tier without problems . Just test for yourself If you are close to a haste cap or what cap you have its a gain. But hit is more valuable the less dots your spec. |

![]() Officer 1204 Posts | It's not quite as simple as that. Basic maths says that at 14.9% hit, you will miss 1 out of every 1000 casts which is really not a lot. Secondly, you may still benefit from that miss. For example, if my Mind Blast or Shadow Word: Death miss, I still generate a shadow orb, which obviously means I am more likely to get my Devouring Plague out (which, by the way, doesn't use any orbs if it misses so I can spam this until it goes off, as I do on Feng for example) Also, hit is only calculated on the original cast and not DoT ticks, once a spell is on something it will no longer miss. So if you can get more haste/mastery/crit/whatever instead of that extra hit, go for it. TL;DR... Being under capped is fine, but is also a personal preference. |

![]() Officer 1204 Posts | The point I was making is that it doesn't matter as much as people think, and how low can you go before it does make a difference? Are you able to reforge to get EXACTLY the right amount of hit? That's pretty unlikely, so do you go over or under cap? |

![]() Social 41 Posts | From what i learned/experienced on wow , hit can be always a bit under the cap , aslong a you cannot notice a dps loss , because if you do , its terrible wrong then , and you ve gone way bellow hit cap As for taking the most out of stats , 2 tools that benefit most ppl on reforging are : http://www.askmrrobot.com/wow/gear http://wowreforge.com/EU/Kazzak/ on wow reforge you can even put the target your aiming for ? les say your aiming for haste cap on shadow priest , simply configure the sim for it . |

![]() Social 777 Posts | People have always worried about hit cap way too much, hit is just another stat... yes its more powerful than other stats maybe, depending on your class, but if you reforged all of you hit to another stat it wouldn't make much of a loss ( or in Hog's case may even be a gain) If you swapped all of your hit to another stat, lets say crit, what you would get is now and then you may miss on a cast, but your crits would be higher for all of the hits that didnt miss. It would balance out to such a minor difference that its not worth worrying about. To be fair, the only time you NEED to be hit capped is if you have important casts that you cant afford to ever miss, for example interrupts, though I'm not 100% sure but didnt they change it so interupts cant miss now? Either way, playing a rogue kinda helped me realise the importance (or unimportance) of hit... as having 3 types of hit (Specials hit cap, Spell hit cap and white hit cap) to try to balance was very confusing at 1st and most rogues seeing "Miss Miss Miss" pop up infront of them on the screen would panic that they were not optimal, when the fact of the matter is that they were, it was just that other stats were of higher value than stopping the white misses.
