I like the application, the question is if we need a DK now. It is crowded in melee when all tanks sign up for raids. Harder has signed and shown up for every raid since he joined us. Morkai is 2/3. I'm usually there every week.

Hypothetically that makes it 6 ppl in melee zone on certain days unless we set up a rotation:

Morkai
Gringo
Harder
Brunken
Doc
DK

Too much imo. I think a lock or a mage is what we need.

DK tank would have been good, but no space for 1 now. Shame though, seems nice app.

TBH if I had realised that Brun was going to be a melee shammy, then I would have said no and would have said either stay DK or nothing, but I kinda misread. But either way, we have no melee space now.

Must say i really like his app.. We should take in consideration hes applying as tank also. Might actually be an idea to give him a spot but only if he excepts the turns of being sat om the bench atleast once a week..... and bl.a. Bl.a. Bl.a.

I agree, I like the app too, but we have 5 melee as it stands, meaning we are going to take atleast 2 tank and 2 melee to every raid. Unless you tell him that "there is a chance that we may be able to get him into 1 raid a week", or unless we are happy to gimp ourselves by having atleast 2 tank and 3 melee DPS in every raid, or unless we have a heavy backup rotation on melee, then its not going to work.

Personally I think that having 2 melee DPS in 10man with WoW's current content is more than enough, and apparently the heroic modes are even less melee friendly.

Ye agree with you on that.. just had a good feeling about this one :)

atm there will be very hard to fit in yet another melee, so we might aswell decline him but would be good to have him on the look out, saying like at the moment we cant fir in another melee since we allrdy have 5 but if a spot opens up we will have him in consideration..

Just a thought, what do ya think?

Agree, though maybe an idea to chat with him ingame to explain to him that we do love the app, but due to lack of melee space we wouldnt want to take him on on a chance that we may be able to squeeze him in now and then... and thus waste his time.

edit: ofc we could always offer him a social spot if he wants whilst he looks around for somewhere permanent, and if we get a spot open up in the time he is in he can join us.

I'm out this week due to workissues, I dunno how we are set on tanks for the 2 upcoming raids. I think harder is on vacation. Maybe give this guy a chance afterall? We seem to be very fragile to these things even with 3 tanks on the roster

We have Brunken who can go on his DK if need be imo. Im mmore in line of gringos option there, get him in as social and when ever theres a spot available get him in, but only if no one else from the ordinary team cant make it..

If anyone is online before raid can they have a word with him if he is online, I am very lucky atm these days if I even make it online by raid time.

I would say go for the "get him in as social if he wants" option, if he is interested, maybe let him know we have a tank on holiday for the next week so we should be able to get him some action.

Getting him in just because we have had an emergency sign out doesnt help in the long run.

Other option is ofc, ask Brun to change main again back to DK? Would mean we have tank when we need and can swap to DPS when we dont.

logged over to the Alliance side to see if he was on lastnight a few times, to see if he was on so could have a chat about the "social idea" and kinda to explain stuff, but he wasnt on.

I'm partly in the mind of saying sod it and just get him in, maybe explain the situation once he is in, to avoid failed raids and just have raid where we are gimped by melee instead.

Anyone else have any thoughts on this? Either way, we need to make a decision fast as we have had him hangin on long enough now.

Yesterday kinda showed how vulnerable we are. We only have about 12 raiders, meaning if more than 2 signs out, we are in trouble. If two of those are tanks, well, then we are in even more deep shit. :)

We need more players. Had he been anything but a melee, I wouldn't hesitate one bit to say yes to invite (whatever happened to "bring the player, not the class" Blizzard? -.-). Now I am a bit hesitant, but I still lean towards inviting the guy. Rather melee crowded raids than no raids. :) And who knows? Maybe Blizzard makes next Tier more melee friendly!

Maybe we can re-arrange some in the team... would Brünken be interested in going Elemental to free up another melee spot?
Also, I think Morkai have another co-worker (Warlock!!!111one) that is currently gearing up to be able to apply.

k so as 2 say invite, and me and Elders seem to be both in 2 minds about it, So I'm going to invite him anyhow...

hough maybe an idea to explain to him once he gets in, and reassure him that because we are going to be melee heavy by getting him in it will not mean he is pushed to the side for raids anymore than others.

I'm more for asking him if he can go ele, and also get this new DK in. If Bruken does nto want to go ele, then maybe have him go back to DK and not invite another melee, we have enough as it is and that really locks us into a strict rotation and prevents us from recruiting mage and lock.

Can't get hold of Brunken even tho he is in "remote chat" (iphone??) ingame, says "away". And nvm, I see you invited DK already.

Yup, we all liked the app and we spent too much time coming up with a final answer, so I accepted him as it seemed to sway more to the side of "get him in so we have enough ppl and dont miss out on raids" rather than "more melee will gimp us"

Ye, I agree. But me playing boomkin would ease the situation in melee range at least, I could at least collect gear and learn the rotation so that that can be an option when melee is not optimal. I played boom some in wrath and it did not seem too bad. I really don't care for changing main, doc is my char with all achivements and I put a lot of effort into this character. Changing o/s is an option tho.
