ok, now im hopin one of u geeks and help me out cos im losin the will to live and my son is useless!! lol

my jack bought me a home theatre for an xmas prezzie ( yes i got it early cos when it got delivered it was pretty obvious it was for me hehe) anywayyyyy, i couldnt get it to have sky tv audio come thru it, so then find out i needed an optical cable too!! so jack ordered me one of those and it came today, then................... my feckin tv didnt have an opitcal port!!!!

so as u can imagine i was proper pissed off today, but jack bein jack and saves the day again say mum, in exchange for ur tv and £200 u can have my 50inch tv that he only had 2 months ( has optical port on the back of it :D) so in all the excitement we swap tv's, owe him £200 and start to try and get it workin................

guess what, i still cant get my bloddy sky hd box to play audio thru the home cinema!! :/ only dvd's and then have to turn to hdmi2 for that

now, i have googled, youtubed etc etc and gettin conflictin intrusctions on what to do, some say need 2 hdmi cable plus optical (which i have anyways) then some are sayin just one hdmi and optical, then some sayin optical goes in one to the other, then other says the bloody opposite!!

i will give u my tv spec etc so plz plz plz if any of u can work out what the hell is goin wrong would be greatly appricaited :D

home cinema is a philips HTS3538
tv is a panasonic tx-l50em6b

if one of u are genius enough to tell me what im doin wrong i will love u long time hahaha :D

and before any of u get smart yes i did read the instructions first!!!! :p

You probably have to set the Sky box to do digital audio or it won't turn on the optical port.

no it said i actually have to set it to optical audio which it auto picked up when i plugged it in, but even that made no difference, but not stressin over it anymore tonight lol

haz i have 2 hdmi cables and one optimal!! im mentally drained from this shizz, what happened to plug and play ffs hahahahaa :p

Cant you ask the peeps from store to help??

he ordered it from amazon and instructions were a waste of time even printing lol, but its ok my friends hubby installs tv's and satalite dishes and gonna sort it out in the week :D
