So we're going to have a meeting tonight with the other guild, I think it's a good idea to let everyone else know we are having the discussion so am considering posting this:

We've all (hopefully!) read about how raiding will work in WoD and know that if we want to continue heroic raiding (known in WoD as mythic raiding) that we need 20 people (plus backups.) Of course that means we need a lot more raiders and to facilitate that we need to start thinking about this NOW as there will be lots of other guilds competing for the players.
We have come up with the following solutions:
1. Do nothing and start recruiting in WoD.
2. Start recruiting now.
3. Start a second team in SoO now.
4. Merge with another guild.
We believe that option 1 is too late and option 2 will just leave the new people with nothing to do or existing people being benched too often. So with that in mind we are about to open discussions with another guild about doing a merge. I've pugged with a few of them and Harder know some of them too. They have a pretty good core of raiders so it could work out quite well. It's important to note that nothing has been decided yet, it's early days yet but hopefully it will work out. Some info on the guild we are talking with.
They are called RevolveD and are currently ahead of us on progression having killed 3/14 on heroic (we've been stuck for a few weeks due to sign out unfortunately)
I've personally pugged SoO with their GM Égam who is a mage, their warlock Glmod, healer Bolligan. There were others but I forget who they are now (sorry if you guys ever read this!) I can say that they were really good players though.
Regarding questions we have already thought about, nothing is agreed but we'd welcome your comments on the following points:
1. Guild Name - do we prefer to stay as Icon?
2. Loot Method - Stick with loot council?
3. GM & Officers - Who will be GM and officers? It's a safe bet we will run as co-GM.
4. Raid nights - Not sure when they raid yet.
5. Anything else?
Feel free to be open and honest in here, we are simply trying to develop a path forward into WoD and let this guild carry on a name that has been around since WoW launch.
