Well, I bought the digital version of cata last week pewpewpew

Now I am not sure if the download really started. Is there anything to download yet? When I visit battle.net it tells me to log in once... but I did that already! My launcher says I am behind a firewall, which didnt prevent him to download patches though. I am bit confused.

Can anyone confirm that there is data to download already for cata?
How can I find out if my download already started?
Is there any folder which starts swelling before cata? :P

We’d like to take a moment to clarify how we’ll be delivering World of Warcraft: Cataclysm cinematics to players who purchase the expansion digitally through Battle.net or download the installer from the web in the future.

Prior to the December 7 launch of Cataclysm, all current World of Warcraft players will receive the Cataclysm intro cinematic as part of an upcoming patch. In addition, all other in-game cinematics (including previous ones such as the Wrathgate movie) will be available for download to players who have not previously installed them. These cinematics will be automatically downloaded in the background while you play the game, after other critical game data has been received.

Can actually do a digital download right now without buying through Battle.net.

Just go into your WTF folder, open "Config.wtf" and change the line SET accounttype "LK" to SET accounttype "CT"

Download will start and you get the 700mb:ish of data needed to play on release day (except for the movie then maybe).

You will of course need still a Cata license key to activate it on release night though. :)

hehe, well, they don't lose anything really. People still need to buy the game for the serial. :)

Btw, have all of you bought the digital download? Pondering what to do atm.
Would be sweet not having to wait for a hard-copy and just go with the digital download.
But then again, it's almost 100 SEK more expensive than buying it on mailorder. Good pricing there Blizz! >.<

I bought digital download basically, because since about 3 years I never ever touched the DVDs anyway. I do not see any purpose since I always get a client, for any computer, everywhere in the world. Its useless shipping and garbage basically.

The only thing which would be nice is to have a collectors box. But lets be honest, in the end all those fun collector items gather dust somewhere on a shelf. At least at my place they would.

So yeah, I want to have the possibility to play the game on midnight the day it comes out and whine about lag and random dc ^^
