Application looks quite good, needs some minor work on gear but I think could be worth a shot.

the gear wasnt that bad my tanking is lower than his in the ilvl, dont know bout the starts for mages but it looked good

So if this puts us back a few weeks to gear him up a bit i dont mind that bhut it's up to you guyse as well. hi alsow need to bring a bit of effort to gear hims self up.

His gear is fine for raiding, a couple of items he can upgrade easily though. I couldn't care less if he didn't clear same bosses as us, as long as he performs. I say get him in.

I agree

seems like a nice genuine app, agree the gear is not perfect, but doesn't mean he is a bad player.

There are a lot of good things about the app I like, he shows he has been dedicated to guilds he has been in, they have progressed well in the past (so not social or crappy guilds)... so he cant be that bad to be in these guilds and to stay in them... just means he has been unlucky this expansion with the GM quitting wow and stuff.

If we find that the gear holds us back a bit then we simply back him up for them fights and we explain that, until his gear picks up a little.

TBH if we go the approach of "gear not good enough, lets decline", we wont get very far with recruiting due to the speed the apps come in.

I'd say we give him a shot, and explain if needed to him that if we feel his gear is holding us back a bit on some fights then we will probably push him asside for them fights.... though with mages being like the top dps this expansion, even lesser gear shouldn't hold us back much.

edit: tbh a mage who does a little less dps is better than a shammy that doesnt show up to raids ;P

Really, his gear aint bad, just those 2 items that he can purchase upgrades for that I mentioned on his application. Not sure where else he's been spending his valor points so he should have enough fo rthe head, and the trinket is about 7k on AH I think (providing my assumption that it's a good upgrade for mages)

Anyway, get him in. Mages DPS is pretty good so he may still be pretty competitive.

His gear is ok for what you aim atm. The most important is if he can follow a tactic and adapt as a caster (if he masters his class).

His app is decent ,there's no reason to not give him a trial. :) Trial is meant for testing.

Thinkin over those 2 apps, lock and mage. I'd continue to recruit and not close recruitment till they are promoted raider.
If an opportunity shows up, get another lock or mage and put them in competitions.
